It’s been said that the church was once the only organization that existed for the benefit of those who are not its members. At Epiphany Opelousas, we love and serve God in a plethora of ways. We have multiple service opportunities, and many members active in different community organizations such as The Refinery Mission, CASA St. Landry-Evangeline, Hope for Opelousas, ICONS Food Bank, Rotary Club, and more. We also have several ways to support the mission of our parish through financial gifts.
Below you’ll find a list of ways to support us and the community we strive to serve.
The General Fund supports the general operations of our parish mission. Any pledges and any undesignated gifts made in the offertory plate are dedicated to this fund. We use the revenues and expenses from this fund to set the annual budget for our parish.
The Parish Discretionary Fund offers financial assistance to individuals, families, and other charitable causes.
The Litton Memorial Discretionary Fund also offers financial assistance to individuals, families, and other charitable causes.
The Memorials Fund supports expenses related to and pertaining to our worship as an Episcopal community. In the past, this fund has helped to offset the cost of some deferred maintenance, purchasing new vestments, and new hymnals. Many people make gifts to this fund in memory of loved ones at the time of their funeral.
The Altar Guild Fund supports expenses related to worship, more specifically liturgical ware and linens.
The Outreach Fund supports our different outreach projects. Any money raised for an outside organization or project flows through this fund.
The Flower Fund provides fresh flowers for worship on Sundays or on special occasions such as Easter or Christmas? This fund helps us to dedicate flowers in memory of loved ones, in celebration of loved ones, in honor of loved ones, or in thanksgiving of loved ones. We currently have two spots for altar arrangements. A suggested gift for each side of the altar is $50.
The Building Fund supports all building related expenses, more specifically for major capital improvements. These funds help offset the cost of major deferred maintenance. Several projects have benefitted from this fund such as but not limited to roof replacement, HVAC system replacement, water heater replacement, and other building issues.
The Perpetual Memorial Endowment provides direct support to the general fund through the Legacy gifts of past generations. Anyone can make a Legacy gift in memory of someone that has gone before or in honor of your family Legacy. The idea behind legacy gifts is that they will keep on providing for our parish and community for years to come. Please reach out to the parish priest or designated person if you’d like to consider making a legacy gift.
